The Cavy place
Rasing Friendly, Healthy, and Affordable Cavys to take home and love
Hello my name is
I would like to explain why I have chosen to go into Cavy breeding;
When I was younger I had always wanted a pet but my mom was worried that I couldn't care for a pet at my age(7-10) so she got me a mouse to test and see if I could care for it.
It turned out the mouse was too much for me because it was a biter and I wasn't able to put my hand in the cage to care for it so we exchanged it for a hamster.
I was very good at caring for my new pet but because its mainly active at night I wasn't allowed/was too tired to play with it while it was awake. When I was able to visit with him he was very energetic and holding him got tiring since all he wanted to do was run and explore.
Needless to say, after he passed of old age, I wanted more of an interactive pet so I got a Rabbit. She was a very good pet but took up a lot of space in my room. She also wanted/needed a bit more attention than I could give seeing as I was still in school at the time.
So I decide to try again, I was determined to find the right pet for me. I got birds but my little sister was coming of an age where she wanted a pet as well, so she got a Guinea pig. Unfortunately, my mom made a poor choice by allowing my sister to have a pet so it was soon given to me.
Having a Guinea pig was a delight! It required just the right amount of attention that most kids can give, plus it is a very interactive pet to have. They love to talk and express how they feel. It was more active during the day and I could sleep undisturbed because he was quiet at night.
I found the right pet for me and I want to share my experience with others. I have fallen in love with these furry critters and I think you will too.
I have done a lot of research on these little guys and have extended knowledge on breeding them. What I am hoping to achieve with my Cavy breeding business is that people can take home loving, socialized guinea pigs. Some pet stores that sell Guinea pigs don't handle them often and that can lead to nipping. I want to spread a good name for the pet that I fell in love with. I also want to sell healthy pets. Some breeders/pet stores don't know how to check their gender properly so the owners take home guinea pig that are pregnant. I am hoping to stop these bad trends.
Thank you for reading! I hope that I have helped you in choosing the right pet for you and your family. Hope to hear from you soon!
